Bunnies In Search of Humans to Love
If you would like to adopt, be sure to read the adoption requirements and application section here.

People often adopt rabbits from other shelters instead of us, saying our rabbits are already being given very good care, and those in other shelters are in greater need. Please remember we do have some very needy rabbits, and every rabbit adopted from us enables us to take in the neediest rabbit from another shelter.

Hoping to adopt? Keep in mind as you look through our rabbits, single rabbits are available only to people looking for a friend for their own single rabbit. We can not pair singles on request for people who have no rabbits already, since the results are unpredictable. For those with no rabbits or an existing pair and wanting another, we always have already proven-compatible pairs available.

Brenda and Frankie

Brenda originally came to us from Longmont, and Frankie from Pueblo. They were adopted and lived happily until their human’s health issues forced her to return them to us.

Frankie was ill when he got here, but has been treated. Now he just has sortof a gimpy leg like many of us older people, but other than that he's fine.

Both rabbits are gentle and friendly, although Brenda is a little shy.

Tansy Tansy

A pregnant-looking doe arrived at the Longmont Humane Society. Tonni Loutzenhiser, who volunteers both there and with us, was worried about what would happen to babies born there, so we said that we would take the mother "just in case".

On her way to us with the doe, now known as Twinkle, Tonni called to say the doe was lifting hair from her breast, so we had a nesting box ready when she arrived. But when we got her out and looked her over, she was obviously NOT pregnant. Then we looked in the carrier, and there wrapped in piles of soft fur, were eight tiny newborns!

Tessa is one of those wonderful babies. We are very happy to have her grow up here where she gets the best of care and learns from all the wonderful volunteers how great people are to her.

Flower

Josie was flown to us from Salt Lake, Utah with other rabbits by "Pilots for Paws" to save her from being killed. She also arrived, supposedly spayed and micro-chipped. Unfortunately, she was neither.

After several months with us, Josie's pen was apparently invaded by an unneutered male, and she gave birth to four beautiful babies. She has weaned them and is now spayed and ready for a hus-bunn and a home!

Flower is one of Josie's beautiful babies. She's clearly got a sharp eye out for the people who will snatch her up and take her to her new home to live a privliged bunny life forever. "Yes, forever please. I'm going to be there for you - please be there for me!"

Theodore

Theodore-able is how we first heard this little one's name. He was a stray found by a teen who gave him his whimsical appellation. Theodore is a delightful and friendly bunny, whom, we predict, won't be here long!

Marley Marley and Minerva

Currently in Foster Care - will be back August 7th

Born to Melinda, Minerva and Marley are two of eight babies who became very attached to each other. The two are exceptionally beautiful rabbits with their oh! so long ears! Both rabbits are friendly and lively and looking for a happy family where they can lived the charmed life we hope for all our rabbits!

Marley - DOB:  2010-03    Weight:  5-1/2 lbs Minerva - DOB:  2010-03    Weight:  5-1/4 lbs

Grady and Melina

The beautiful bunny was being ignored by everyone in the family. Instead of making time for him, the mom decided that if the kids had no interest, neither did she. So the kids learned that, instead of taking responsibility for their choices, they can simply dump them on someone else. Sad for everyone, but especially for a beautiful, deserving rabbit! From the moment he arrived, he has been a huge favorite with ALL our volunteers, hasn't he gang?

Minerva was born to Melinda, a lovely female stray taken to Adams County. Grady really likes Minerva, because she grooms him whenever he wants her to do so - which is quite often in fact. He is very calm and loves to be petted by humans, too. Still being so young, Melina is quite lively, but having been raised here and doted on by all our volunteers, she is very friendly. For people wanting bunnies who can't be topped for friendliness, this is your pair!

Dante Dante

Dante was a stray, but closely bonded to the lovely Dixie - gee, they must have needed each other SO much when the whole world seemed against them! Dante, fortunately, had been neutered, so Dixie wasn’t pregnant. They were eventually captured and taken to the Adams County Humane Society, and then came to us from there. Unfortunately, poor Dixie didn't have long here, as she was ill.

Somebody must have loved them a lot - though obviously not enough to keep them safe from getting lost. Wouldn't the world be a better place for all the domestic rabbits if all the people caring for them would read our articles, believe our warnings, and care for their rabbits properly? Dante is now single and looking for another wonderful ladybunn and a home so he can live safely forever.

Dante - DOB:  2008    Weight:  5-1/2 lbs
