Penguin   Penguin’s human lost her house in foreclosure, making it necessary for him, and his former mate (Snugli, aka Liesl) to come to us. Unfortunately, Snugli was very ill, and Penguin’s rambunctiousness was stressing her badly, so the two went their separate ways. Snugli will be well cared for in the home she's moving to, so we won't worry about her. But Penguin is very eager to find a forever home and a nice new healthy young ladybunn who will enjoy his lively, friendly ways. Penguin - DOB:  2004    Weight:  3 lbs

Gingko   This lively little guy was rescued from a scorching hot garage, where he was being completely ignored. How anyone could treat such a friendly little bunny who begs constantly for attention this way, is beyond us, but we are so glad to have gotten him away from unbearable conditions which would surely have led to his death. Lively, friendly, and hilarious Gingko is all about himself and YOU. Speak to him and he is THERE. Walk up to him and he is THERE. Offer him a home and he is there, There, THERE. LeAnn   LeAnn hopped into a backyard, where she was lucky enough to be rescued and brought to us since she is white, making her glow in the moonlight making it very easy for predators to find and catch her. She also had some health problems, with a large fatty tumor on her shoulder, and a small one on her back. Her dewlap was huge with fat, but her poor body was skinny from lack of exercise. Then when she was spayed, two cancerous tumors were found in her uterus. Thank goodness, they hadn’t broken out! She's feeling much better with her tumors taken care of now At first, we thought she was very elderly, but since she’s been spayed and had good food, it’s obvious that she’s just a young adult with lots of life ahead of her now that she's in the right place at the right time and on the inside track to health and happiness. Yes, she's a little feisty - might not have survived long enough to be rescued had she not had that feistiness going for her. And the good news is that she is also friendly. Carlin and Lorna   Carlin is all decked out in his formal Dutch tux ready for a Homecoming Party - HIS! You see recently he found himself at the Summit County Shelter, where he realized he had little chance of being adopted. At their request, we brought him here so this friendly little guy has a chance at a long and happy life. "You may find me a bit cautious when we first meet, but I’ll let my guard down as we get to be best pals living together". Lorna was a stray who parked herself in front of the wheel of a woman’s car, so the woman couldn’t drive away without running over the bunny. Smart girl, that. So of course, this kind woman took the bunny home and called us. As usual, we were full at the time we got the call, but Lorna went on our waiting list. As soon as we were able to make room, Lorna came here to find her family - the REAL family, the one that will keep her indoors and safe and never let her stray again. Lorna recently found herself happily paired with Carlin. Between the two of them, they're certain they are "THE irresistible pair!' Ichi and Murphy   Apparently a stray bunny gave birth to a litter. When the babies were barely four weeks old, the nest was savaged by a predator, killing all but one. Ichi, which means “one” in Japanese was the only one who survived, and she suffered a compound fracture of a back leg, and the dislocation of her hip. It healed beautifully, and Ichi runs and jumps just fine. Little Murphy suffered a similar fate. He was found as a stray in Colorado Springs, with an obviously broken leg. We had a vet there provide pain meds, and then brought him here where the leg could be expertly set. X-rays showed that the bone had been shattered just below the knee cap. He was fitted with a big purple splint, but the leg failed to heal, and had to be amputated Both these bunnies are lively and friendly and sure to fill their new home with smiles and laughter! Zane   Zane had the misfortune to have lived with a human who loved him, but ended up in prison. The man’s sister couldn’t keep Zane for her brother, but she did get him to us and safety. Having been a loved bunny, Zane is very friendly and as with many of the smaller ones, he is very lively. Hopefully he doesn't feel as if HE got sent to prison, too. And as soon as he can find himself a girlfriend and a forever home, he might wonder if he's gone to heaven! Zane - DOB:  2007    Weight:  3-1/2 lbs

Tate   A pregnant-looking doe arrived at the Longmont Humane Society. Tonni Loutzenhiser, who volunteers both there and with us, was worried about what would happen to babies born there, so we said that we would take the mother "just in case". On her way to us with the doe, now known as Twinkle, Tonni called to say the doe was lifting hair from her breast, so we had a nesting box ready when she arrived. But when we got her out and looked her over, she was obviously NOT pregnant. Then we looked in the carrier, and there wrapped in piles of soft fur, were eight tiny newborns! Tate is one of those wonderful babies. We are very happy to have her grow up here where she gets the best of care and learns from all the wonderful volunteers how great people are to her. Yvette and Emmet Currently in Foster Care - will be back September 17th Foreclosure resulted in all of the animals from one farm going to another family, including Redford and two female bunnies (with whom he managed to sire 10 babies, one of which was Yvette). She is a lovely rabbit, lively, friendly and eager to play. How nice for her to now have a partner, Emmet. We have very little information about Emmett. He came to us from Table Mountain Animal Center badly overweight, which of course we've worked on. This young bunn, Emmet, is quiet, well-mannered, and mildly cautious. Potter and Charmin   When a family lost their farm to a foreclosure, another family took their three llamas, 36 chickens, and a variety of other animals. Then they discovered that there were three rabbits, so they took them, too. Redford, a beautiful, rust-colored male, was delighted to find himself with two white female bunnies, and quickly did what young male rabbits do - he fathered two litters which were born on May 25, 2008. Potter was one of those babies. Charmin was found as a stray with her mother, Chandra. The two were taken to a shelter, and when their hold time was up, came to us. Within a couple of weeks of her arrival, poor little Charmin somehow mananged to break her front right leg. A splint held it in place while it healed. Born in early 2009, Charmin is soft, soft, soft! She is also pure, fluffy white with dark eyes. For those who love the white fur but not the typical pink eyes, this is your chance to live with a white rabbit. And maybe, the BIGGEST ears ever! She is as friendly and sociable as she is soft. What adorable rabbits these two friendly, lively, and gentle bunns are - simply a wonderful pair!
