Carlysle

Sweet little Carlysle lost his brother suddenly and lost his forever home the next day. Ever cheerful, he took this in stride and moved back to the Satellite to meet the next love of his life. At about the same time, Prince Albert crossed the Rainbow Bridge, leaving Edmund Hillary bereft and alone. After an appropriate time of mourning Eddie let his humans know he was ready for a new bunny friend. Eddie and Carlysle worked out the power arrangements and decided they liked each other very much, and soon Carlysle was headed east to a loving mountain home, Eddie snuggled closely to his side, and the lucky humans pleased to welcome a new family member!

Fiona

Fiona

This precious little baby wasn't in inventory very long! Fiona is a baby Mini-Rex, with the signature velveteen coat and curly-Q whiskers. A resplendent black with tan markings and white belly, this tiny heart-stopper was rescued from certain death at the fangs of a group of dogs. Why she was wandering alone in a field, we cannot guess. At 2 lb, this beautiful bunny loves to be held and will burrow down into the crook of one’s elbow and fall asleep! Already, her litter box habits are perfect. Fiona has moved to the Skalla home to be wife to Riley and loving snuggle-bunn to human parents Kris and Tom. We are so happy for the whole family!

Buddy & Cleopatra

Buddy is a beautiful black mini-lop and Cleopatra is a loving and faithful Hotot mix. This devoted pair met in April 2009 and went home together, only to lose their human family to a divorce. Both rabbits were probably born in 2008 and both are about 5 lbs. They are experienced house rabbits who love being held, both by humans and each other. They have found a stable loving home where they can settle, once and for all, forever. Congratulations to these wonderful bunnies and their lucky human family.

Shawn & Stella

Shawn & Stella

Hi! We’re Shawn and Stella and our photographer REALLY apologizes because she can’t get a good picture of us! Suffice it to say we are gorgeous young, glossy black satin rabbits. We are newlyweds who love each other very much, and we love people too, despite the fact we were dumped in a campground in Durango. Fortuntely a very nice lady rescued us and brought us to the Satellite in Grand Junction. We are thrilled to say we are in a wonderful new home with a human mom and dad and three doggie friends. We even have our very own crabapple tree in the backyard! Binkies!

Miranda & Phoebe & Jasper

Miranda, in an elegant patchwork tan fur, Phoebe, adorned in a gorgeous white long fur with beautiful agouti patches, and Jasper, in a tasteful grey and tan heather coat, make a most dashing threesome! These precious young fuzzy lops (a cross between angora and mini-lop) have decided people are okay … now they sit up for treats and lay contentedly in our laps for combing. They are really comical doing binkies outdoors, looking like flying caterpillars! We are thrilled to report these bunnies found a loving home who took all three of them.

Cameron & Sierra

Cameron & Sierra

These are experienced, loving house rabbits with delightful manners and perfect litter box habits. Their home hardly needs cleaning! Cameron, 3, is a 5 lb mini-lop who is like a bunny blanket - he will lay in your lap for hours. Sierra, 4, is about the same size and is equally sweet. Their playful, friendly attitudes and loving dispositions make them absolutely ideal house rabbits. They are experienced with young children and are used to dogs and cats. What's not to love?

Monty & Easter

Monty moved to Grand Junction from Greeley to meet the lovely and lonely Easter. Monty was the first rabbit Easter did not appear to be afraid of. In fact, she pursued him! He was not sure about hooking up with such a precocious girl, but soon was convinced she was the one for him. Monty is exceptionally sweet and good-natured and appears relieved to have finally found the girl who will treat him right.

Easter is the precious baby who was our first Easter abandonment of 2009. We think she was about three months old when we took her in late May. In her three short months she was purchased as an Easter bunny, had a litter of babies that died (this happens when pet stores put baby bunnies all together, ignorant or not caring that rabbits can reproduce at two months of age), and was abandoned by her family in a plastic crate at a place of business just five weeks after Easter. Fortunately a kind person took her in and called us.

Easter has really warmed up to people and has gained a lot of confidence since marrying Monty. She is 3 lbs now and we think she's going to stay fairly small. These lucky bunnies have found a wonderful home with lots of room to run and play and a luxurious rolling run of their very own.

Jacob & Carlysle

Jacob & Carlysle

These beautiful young Dutch-mix brothers, born in or around April, 2009 and recently neutered, are active and personality-plus. They have the agreeable personalities of Dutch dwarf rabbits combined with the curiosity and activity of youth. At 2˝ and 3 lbs respectively, they run up to people for pets and greetings. We expect these rabbits to be less than 4 lbs when full-grown.

Carlysle has stunning blue eyes and loves to be held. Jacob has never met a stranger. Their litter box habits are already great. They have the great good fortune of being adopted into a mountain home with a huge outdoor garden and lots of running and digging room, plus kids to play with. Way to go boys!

Brooke and Meadow

These beautiful sisters were dumped in a desert park with their mom and three brothers. Fortunately they came to us soon after they were found and in a jiffy they were placed in a wonderful forever home! Friendly and entertaining, these girls have two new human sisters to keep them company and a mom who is new to rabbit care. Taking these girls was a good choice, they will be easy to care for and easy to love!

Edward

Edward

Hi, I'm Edward, the black and white bunny on the right. I'm here with my brothers Jacob and Carlysle. I just married Coco and got to go live in the mountains with her and her humans. It's great here! We have a huge 2-story condo and a gimongous back yard to play in. Our patient human slave stays outside with us for hours. I hope my brothers get as wonderful a home as I have.

Crystal

Crystal barely hit our facility before she found a forever home. This little helicopter-lop (one ear up, one ear down) survived the deplorable conditions of the New Mexico Rabbit Disaster and was rescued in June 2009 along with about 200 other babies, juveniles, and adult rabbits. We are grateful to the Boulder volunteers who drove all the way to New Mexico to help with the rescue effort, and the New Mexico volunteers who worked tirelessly to save these bunnies.

In this picture Crystal is about 6 weeks old and weighs 1-1/2 lbs. She’ll probably be 4 – 5 lbs as an adult. She is beyond ADORABLE. She loves to be cuddled and seems content to sit indefinitely in human laps. She has the queenly bearing of most female lops and appears to know how cute she is. She certainly hears it enough! Crystal is immensely curious about her surroundings and has escaped a couple times from enclosures. This little girl appears to be quite well adjusted despite her desperate beginnings.

Harmony & Saphira

Harmony & Saphira

These little beauties spent nine months living unrestrained in a back yard, burrowing for warmth, and running the neighborhood looking for food. Neighbors often saw them dodging dogs, hopping from yard to yard, and we found them playing in traffic. Once part of a group of five rabbits, two did not survive the winter, and a third was rescued with these two. After our volunteers went to great lengths to capture them, Harmony and Saphira’s unconcerned human relinquished them to our volunteers and now they are enjoying warmth, safety, plenty of good food, and lots of loving.

These shy girls love each other very much and are learning to trust humans. Harmony has the velvety fur characteristic of Satins and at 4 lbs she is still twice as big as Saphira, a 2 lb dwarf mix with stunning blue eyes. These girls have found a new home together with humans who will let them come out of their shells in their own good time, and provide lots of extra love and care. Congratulations girls!!
