Rabbit Veterinarians in Northwestern Colorado

If you have a medical emergency involving a domestic rabbit, and can't find a good rabbit vet, call the Colorado HRS 24-hour Health Line at 303-669-8962. If you are unable to reach a human and have left a message, but haven't heard back within 5 minutes, call  720-261-4289.

Do not use this for sick or injured cottontails. Instead, call Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation at 303-823-8455 or take the cottontail to the nearest veterinarian.

The following are veterinarians who have returned a survey to us and whose answers indicate they know some basics about rabbits. We have worked with some of them and had good experiences (those are marked with an asterisk), but in most cases, we only know what they have indicated on the survey.

These are suggestions to help you begin your search for a good rabbit vet. They do not guarantee whether a vet is really good with rabbits.

You may want to ask at least the following questions:

We have not included veterinarians about whom we have received many complaints nor those we have found to have practices in extreme disagreement with the HRS's philosophy. Our apologies if we have inadvertently left anyone off this list. If you feel this is the case, please call 303-469-3240 (press the # key to bypass the long greeting.)
